The freeway traffic has crawled to a stop again
What a change!
I'm trapped in the usual webs
I feel tired, I feel strange
The sun is shining high in the sky above today
But I cant see it because of all the haze

I lean back and turn off the music
To tired to let it make me mad
I'm thinking of amber eyes
So kind, slightly sad

I'm wondering if I could do something to make them shine
Really smile
But I'm just a helpless romantic marking time
All the while

I know that this will come to pass
The haze wont last and I know
I'll get by if thats what matters

I breathe in and sigh as my thoughts slowly fade through the day
Life's ugly side has me in its sights
Still I cant turn away

Somewhere up above there's a sky of blue
I daydream of leaping and drifting across with you
The sun is shining high in the sky above today
And I should see iit inspite of all the hazy gray
